English Sporter Rifle Championships 2025
Sunday 11th May 2025 saw some of the top Sporter Rifle Athletes in the country gather at NSRA Aldersley for the ESSU English Sporter Rifle Championships.
Three classes were competed for: Open, with the title of English Sporter Rifle Champion and U16, with the title of Junior English Sporter Rifle Champion and for the first time U12 as a minor class intended to give our younger competitors experience of competition.
Many congratulations go to Dara Edmonds who is this year’s English Champion with a winning score of 325 x 400, and also to Navami Santosh in Silver with 323, and Yubien Kang in Bronze also with 322.
Many congratulations go to Abbigael Beech who is this year’s Junior U16 Champion with a winning score of 335 x 400, and also to Tobias Eddison in Silver with 332 and Freya Stephenson in Bronze with 310.
Congratulations also to our Younger U12 shooters. This class was won by Alexander Clews with 307, with Ben Adler in Silver with 292 and Sanuel Clews in Bronze with 259.
As in all aggregate competitions, the final results are not known until the match has finished, all of the competitors have since been sent a copy of the results which have also been widely published. Medals and Certificates will be sent to the winners in due course.
This championship will be a regular fixture in the calendar, perhaps a bit earlier in the year to try to avoid the worst of the GCSEs. Details will be circulated in good time through the normal outlets.
Several of the competitors have already made enquiries to advance their skills, expertise and knowledge with the ESSU Rifle Academy and we look forward to being able to help these young athletes of the future, develop and improve.
The ESSU would like to thank this year’s competitors for entering and their diligent and focussed approach to the task in hand, you were all a credit to your sport.
The organisers would like to thank Dan, Alan, Lara and Andy who volunteered their time on Sunday, to run the match smoothly, efficiently and without fuss. We couldn’t have done it without you guys, so thank you very much.
